Mike 1017 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I have used up the last molecule of Testors Aluminum Plate. I have plenty of Aluminum bottled paint. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mike Quote
stitchdup Posted January 9 Posted January 9 i like the plasticote aluminium. But i use c1 metaliser on it for a polished look. if you spray it fairly light you can get a decent looking finish but its by no means the only one i use though it is the only one i spray Quote
Duane Garner Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Aluminum paint is subjective, each manufacturer has their own version: cast aluminum, bright aluminum, brushed aluminum, polished aluminum, dull aluminum. My choice for spray cans is Rustoleum Bright Aluminum and Krylon Dull Aluminum. Been modeling for 64 years and neither has let me down. Quote
ncbuckeye67 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I have used the "chrome" Short Cuts Craft Enamel that's sold at Michael's & Hobby Lobby before. It's not a metallic, but a good-looking satin silver. I stripped the chrome from the fuel tanks on a semi-truck, and was quite pleased with the look. Quote
Mike 1017 Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Thanks for your advice. It looks like a Hobby Lobby and Wal Mart trip tomorrow Mike Quote
