While continuing on with my Rambler Rogue project, I decided to start another build.  Last spring an Ebay posting came up for a resin '50 Olds sedan delivery body and I bought it.

The seller was 'forgle9' and he cast his own creations.  It is a very well casted piece with very little clean up required.  All the parts from a Revell '50 Oldsmobile Coupe fit with this body.  The one modification that I made was to 'open' the rear door.  Of course, this just creates a bit more detailing to the interior, but....... why not?  Right?

From the research I've done, there were 8 of these cars built by Oldsmobile and given to their plant managers at GM's eight Oldsmobile production factories in the U.S.  There is one at a Tallahassee Auto Museum in Tallahassee, Florida that I have visited several times.  I plan on building this stock.  (Thought the sun visor would be a nice addition)

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Oh man...I'm diggin the 50 Olds Sedan Delivery Joseph.  The visor really sets it aprart from the stock look.  Gives it more of a classy look.  What color are you thinking on this one?

Like sedan deliveries in general, and this has to be at the top of the list. I'll be looking over your shoulder on this build.

I like it. Is that a AMT '49 Merc trunk hinge?

Sure is!  I just cut out a couple of millimeters from the middle to fit the door.  I probably could have made a thinner, prettier hinge with some brass wire but, it was there so I used it.

Thanks for looking!

It's definitely going to be a solid color, nothing metallic.  I would really like to put some 'Vendor/Business' graphics on the side, so I'm holding off on a color until I find the right decals.

Thanks for the comments!

I've never seen one.

There are a few interesting stories about them on the internet.  Most of them have survived through the years.

Is this based off of the Revell '53 Chevy Panel?

Len, The guy who did the body is here on the Forum. He is damodelguy phx az.  He just got back on the Forum on 7/11/24 after some issues with his internet provider in Phoenix.  Before 8/14/23 he was here as damodelguy az.  He has created many very cool custom bodies and sold them through Ebay and posted photos of all of them here on the Forum through the years.  With a little searching on the Forum you can see them.  I'm sure he would be glad to answer your questions if you message him.  His stuff is very clean and well made.

Thanks Joseph, I’ve actually bought from him before but never saw this body.

Cool project. I am curious why the interior floor need to be raised so high.

Well Bill,  I glued the ribbed floor to the 'hump' that houses the rear end underneath.  No really sure how much lower I could go with the floor and not interfere with the rear axle.

Thank for the question.
