junkyardjeff Posted January 10 Posted January 10 This is a restoration using half 60s parts, body, fenders and interior are 60s with a later chassis and engine. Since the fenders are from the sedan kit it's now a standard, engine is a 302 from the 90s F-150 kit. Was going to use a Lincoln engine but it was to big and would have required surgery but it had been painted. 5
satterwhite78 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) Good color choice, Always picture the 40 Ford black. Edited January 10 by satterwhite78 .
junkyardjeff Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 The 60s box has one on the side in a similar color so this one is kind of like my box art version.
Rattlecan Dan Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Nice-looking Hot Rod. Very subtle sleeper. Good job!
espo Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I agree with everyone else on the color and the finish looks great. The small block Ford engine is a more realistic choice if this was a real car anyway. The standard steel wheels and black walls look good on this.
karbuildr Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Very nice build of a classic automobile. Looks great in red with a modern engine.
Zippi Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I'm diggin this build Jeff. Great looking color. That's a good looking engine setting there in the business end. Nicely done.
junkyardjeff Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Should of left the hubcaps off and should of tried to find the standard caps off the Revell but did not think about it at that time.
Dave G. Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Looks great ! Reminds me of some of the sleeper type builds I might have done myself a few decades ago. Very nice, clean look.
junkyardjeff Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 I did find some caps that are not for a deluxe so I might change them.
junkyardjeff Posted yesterday at 12:38 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:38 AM Picked up a box today, now I am thinking about building the race version. 1
