Joe Handley Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Does anybody offer 1/16 resin NASCAR or Mopar Steelies and treaded tires that would fit the General Lee, or can at least be adapted to them?

I always thought the steelies in the AMT ‘64 Mustang kit would have looked good for this if they were widened. Maybe you could start with them. Also, the treaded front tires in the MPC 1/16 Cobra seem to be about the right size and look for a late 60’s stock car tire. it would be nice if Round 2 tooled up some new wheels, tires, and a few other stock car bits for the old General Lee kit. 1

It just so happens I have a couple of those Cobra kits, but I want to build them eventually, though. I like the 3D Sunburst wheels and tires that are offered, but I want something fatter than what they come in though.
Casey Posted January 13 Posted January 13 The 1/16 MPC Petty Charger and General Lee kits includes a good vintage set of Goodyear Blue Streak Stock Car Special tires, all four identical, which is about the best kit-sourced tire you'll find for a late '60s/early '70s "stock car" IMHO. The 1/16 MPC Cobra tires are nice for a slightly later/more modern vehicle, but more square shouldered, and not quite as wide as the above mentioned Goodyears. These deep dish steel wheels will fit the above mentioned tires, too: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265200837898 1

May need to check out Texas 3D Customs for a 1/16 scale BBM and A833 as well.
