fordf-100 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I just finished this a few days ago. It’s the MPC Ohio George Multi Maverick. This was a little bit difficult to get together, the frame was warped and a lot of it is just “finicky “! I went with the longer wheel base and glued everything in position as I will not be swapping back and forth! From looking online this is not very accurate kit to the real car, at least from the info I found. It sat much better on the frame until I put the windows and interior tin in, I have another of these so if I build another I may do some different things with it. Let me know what you guys think! 3
dragcarz Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Your build looks good! And you are right the kit leaves a lot to be desired. It seem to me that someone on the forum was trying to build an accurate Multi Maverick a couple years back, I don’t know if he ever finished it or not.
Zippi Posted January 13 Posted January 13 You did a pretty good job with that old MPC kit Phil. The ole Multi Maverick turned out pretty nice.

When Montgomery was designing this car MPC made a deal with him to build a model kit and they would pay for the real car. Ohio George made some changes after MPC had already finished the kit. Bob Crozier's build made all the corrections. Edited January 13 by magicmustang

That's interesting that it worked that way with the model coming first then the real car!

Decals would have been simple to correct. 1
TonyK Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Your model turned out pretty good. There have been many times I don't buy kits like this because it's MPC and I know it won't be fun to build. You did good!

You are right Tony, some of the MPC kits are pretty challenging to get together and this was no exception! It’s a shame cause they have some good subject matter!
M W Elky Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Your build looks great, really clean. I’ve had mine in the box on the shelf for like 16 years now, and have been reluctant to start it because of all the inaccuracies, and most of all the wrong decals. I really wish on of the decal makers would produce a nice set. Again thanks for the inspiration. A really nice piece.
