ybsluos Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Zenon These kits may be a bit easier to come by. I’m not sure the tea buckets have the exact same center caps as those front wheels in the sand shark but they are very close and I’m almost positive. They’re the same tires. I’m sorry I don’t have a set of the tires to help you. Mr Spencer is right those 2 kits have the identical tires and wheels for sure. You could always try Curt Raitz on this forum. He has some amazing spoke.”bicycle” dragster wheels and tires but they are machine aluminum rings and photo edge spokes. They take a little bit of work to put together, but they are absolutely stunning when they’re finished. Just a couple ideas. I’ll keep my eyes peeled and see if any of my friends have a set of what you’re looking for laying around.
ybsluos Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Zen here is Curt’s post from this very site curt raitz Posted December 1, 2020 I currently sell them on ebay (search TruWire wheels) and thru Ted's Modeling Marketplace.https://www.tedsmodelingmarketplace.com I have 4 sizes, 3 in 1/25th with .710", .074" and .079" OD. and one in 1/16th with a 1.10" OD. They come with O-Ring tires, but are designed to use the tires in the kit. The slot Car guys like the O-Rings. Bernards photo is of one of the first I made...I've gotten much better. My only guarantee is that they are much better than the "kit-supplied" wheels. check'em out...
ybsluos Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Zen i found these in my stash. They are not Monogram tires and wheels. The tire diameter and wheel diameter are both shorter than Monogram’s rolling stock from the aforementioned kits. I think Monogram was 1/24 and these are likely from a 1/25 AMT or MPC. The holes in the center of these would likely need opened a bit to accommodate the Sand Shark axle. Doing so is not for the faint of heart when you realize just how little torque is needed with a drill-bit or X-Acto blade to end up cracking the spokes. I speak from experience! But you’re probably better at it than me. I will happily send these to you, but they are definitely not the exact pieces you’re looking for. Also they haven’t got that center cap on the outside rim like the Sand Shark units had. Anyhow PM me if interested. - Mark
