Belugawrx Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) Just finished this one, 1998 Mclaren MP4/13. I liked the presentation car livery and it's not often you get to build an orange car..and I really didn't want the head ache of the actual livery... David Coulthard and Mika Hakkinen drove this to much success in 1998 winning the constructor's title for McLaren for the first time in 7 years. Here they are with the presentation car So anyways on to the build Paint is Craftsmart from Micheals custom mixed, thinned and airbrushed..clear coat is airbrushed Pledge (Future) 3 coats. The "carbon fibre is just gloss black with a dusting of gold sprayed very lightly into the spray booth not at the part...lol Mostly out of box except for a few extra wires and an additional rear wing element. Fun build, no headaches. Thanks for checking it out...Cheers Edited January 30 by Belugawrx fergot sumpin 7
bbowser Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Great looking racer! I think you got the color spot on. 1
Spooker Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Excellent build! Neat idea for the CF, I'll have to try that. I'm glad McLaren has gone back to orange cars, any other color for them seems wrong! 1
Pierre Rivard Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Nice build Bruce. Tamiya always comes to the rescue when we need to refresh after a complicated build. I love the finish you applied (nice gloss but not show car glossy) and the way you scuffed the tires. 1
