BIGTRUCK Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Since I already built BeverlyHillbillies truck and I have another kit it makes sense to build the Jethro version. All the info I gathered there were changes in the car depending on what site you got info from. Im going with the first picture. The seat needed backs as they just looked odd out of the box,and there really no interior detail, but some simple evergreen sheet stock helped there. 5
Old Buckaroo Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Fun build you have going there ! I cant remember my cell phone number but can sing the theme song to "Beverly Hillbillies" with no problem 🤪 1
Zippi Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Haha...did you use Jethros ciphering to measure those boards in the bed? 2
TECHMAN Posted February 3 Posted February 3 This is an interesting project!!!! Will be following this for sure. DJ
bob29579 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 The pictures make it look like a really long wheelbase...
Nazz Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Looks great Ken. There aren't many of these built as the hot rod. I did one a number of years ago. Loving yours. What material are you using for the door panels? Jerry
Steve H Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Another fun looking build Ken. I assume you painted the wood grain? It looks absolutely amazing, very nicely executed.

I start with Tamiya wood deck flat tan then use assorted Vallego acrylics and alcohol lightly spread in random areas then cleared depending on purpose with gloss or flat. BIGTRUCK Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 (edited) Moving along and almost complete Im at the part thats a little difficult. The hood and sides with the side pipes ,injector tubes and grille housing. The 2 front bumpers , headlites and mirrors need to go on and the 2 little windshields. The rear lights were just chrome so I mixed some epoxy and some clear red enamel added for lenses. The running board tops are vinyl pcs. painted body color. Made a few rollbar braces for rear rollbar so it would have the same lean as the front rollbar. Also changed out the headrests from square to round. This was an AMT kit from 2004, this issue did not come with decals. Quote off Rocketfin: - "The kit is a difficult build, in as far as the hood area is a bit tricky. The hood is made up of 5 separate pieces". - Its not bad at all to build, a bit finicky in places such as exhaust and a few pieces that do not have locator holes or pins and if they do they dont line up..but its modeling.
