Dutzie Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Working on an early 70’s Ford N800. I purchased the file on Cults from designer Ditamaso147. Printed on my Saturn 4 Ultra. Airbrushed model air dark green over black Vallejo primer. The donor kits are the AMT Ford snowplow and the engine is from the AMT C600. I might just make it a dump truck instead of the snow plow. Not sure yet. 6
Biggu Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Cool. Sure looks smooth. What are your plans for glass? I love these old rides
Rockford Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I had a little Matchbox version of this truck when I was little. Looks great! 1

cifenet Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Wow, looks fantastic and it looks very unique! And either you have done great work cleaning that 3D part, or your 3D printer is superb! So smooth and proper~ 1
BK9300 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I agree with Steve - very fine printing and cleanup - excellent paint finish, too. 1

I will need to make a template from masking tape for the windows. I will transfer the template to .005 clear sheet and trim to fit. I agree, these older trucks are so cool. 1

I used the optimal angle calculator from Scale Speed Garage and it’s really made a huge difference in print quality. The calculator aligns print angles to optimize the pixels on the X and Y axis. 1

Don't know if it was one I saved for a future small scale detailed project, I'd have to dig deep into my die casts box. Looked like this eBay photo version: 2

Dump truck or wrecker either one would make a col build. I love this build. Old iron is so cool.

leafsprings Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Great subject, and very nice results! The Louisville dump and the 534 V8 gas engine are great choices for donors. N series was available '63-'69. The cab can be pin pointed to 1964-65 and series would be NT 850 or the heavier duty NT 950
