carsntrucks4you Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) This time a car from Japan was the one in question. This is a 1971 Subaru FF-1 station wagon. It was also called Subaru FF-1 Star. The FF-1 (A-14) was development of the Subaru 1000. It was powered by a 1100 ccm flat four cylinder engine (EA-61) when it was introduced 1969 in Japan. It was sold in the USa from 1970-1971 as the FF-1 Star while the 1972 model was sold as the Subuaru FF-1 1100. A second 1300 cc engine (EA-62) joined the line up in 1971. peteski Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Subaru? Interesting . . . To me that car has more of a European flavor than Japanese.

I was sure it was some kind of Lada or Zhiguli or something of that ilk.... I wasted a lot of time down that rabbit hole and never though to look further east.. (and being left hand drive, there wasn't the obvious "Japanese" clue...) best, M.
