Should look terrific once you have it all together and some of your classic weathering (and tarring!) applied. Now Brian - to keep this consistent with your build you are going to have to design for Jeff a 1/25 scale 3 ring binder .stl file with operating rings to go in the receptacle in the back. Go on with ya - hop to it!😆 3

Jürgen M. Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Nice job Jeff! Looking really good! I hope you enjoy this distributor puzzle you got from Bren! I hadn't expected it to be so many parts but once you get started you just can't stop! Good thing Bren has such great skills in resin printing. Those small parts would not have come out as nice on my printer! Thanks for your faith in my designing skills! Glad you like the parts! Now we're all anxious to see your progress! Hey, but no pressure Pal! 😉 2
Biggu Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 I have to say , your design skills are superlative. Especially with the lousy dark photos you had to work with, the details are incredible and as you say, Bren’s printer does incredible fine detail. This being my first real foray into the 3d world in a large was has me in awe and somewhat mesmerized. With your comprehensive ‘instruction’ booklet , I will have no trouble putting all the pieces in the right place in the right sequence . Thank you so much for sharing your awesome talents. And yeah, no pressure🫢
Jürgen M. Posted April 25 Posted April 25 It was a pleasure! 😊 If you have any trouble assembling Things Just Tell me! I'll be glad to help! 1

cifenet Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The quality of the 3D printed parts are looking excellent! I am certain this is going to be super special as you make further progress to build the truck! 👍 1 1

You are so right Steve, the quality of the parts are top notch. This whole back end could be a kit all on its own as it is very comprehensive. Thanks for checking in. I hope to have some progress soon. 1
Biggu Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 Well, I managed to find a few minutes to hit the bench and cobbled up a reasonable facsimile of a hydraulic asphalt pump. Some different sized tubes an end cap and a couple of Bren’s awesome fittings and a hydraulic fitting from CTM. Under a splash of paint and hoses connected it shud be passable. 1
Biggu Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 Here is another small update. Just more to let you know I am actually chipping away at this. Started out as a ‘quick build’ and not to get too bogged down. I did a little frame work and added bolts in the appropriate places and installed the fuel tanks with the weld seams and fuel fittings. I also did a little ‘fiddling’ with the engine. I was thinking of changing the engine to a diesel but that would have entailed a little more engineering and fabrication that I was prepared to take on. The gas engine is no where near perfect but it looks ‘busy’ and for where it is going sit it will work fine. Lots of measuring and figuring but I do think I will leave this as a single axle, mostly as Bren was nice enough to make me a shorter tank that would be fine for a S/A. Now the next decision is to keep the wedge brakes or go to ‘S’ cams🤔🤔 3
BK9300 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Good progress, Jeff - goes without saying, but the added detailing sure stands out! Going to be a cool truck. 1

I didn’t do a whole lot of super detailing but it will look the part once installed. Still a little more to add to it though. Thanks for checking in. More progress to follow …

Biggu Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 A little more progress. I was wanting to change out the crummy wedge brake chambers to the optional ( at the time ) S Cam style as we have mostly today. i fiddled with scratch made brackets and with some resin brake chambers with brackets but I was fouled by the style of rear end in this truck. The crown housing is off to one side and leaves very little room for a bracket of any sort. So I decided that I had to go back to wedge brakes but I changed out the minute little pots to something a little more realistic. So I have a spring brake chamber on the drive axle and just a service pot on the steering axle. When plumbed and painted it should do the trick nicely. This exercise took more time than I had planned but it is now in hand 2

Jürgen M. Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Nice going Pal! I wouldn't even have known the types of brakes! Looks great. I can't wait to see more! 1
cifenet Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Your attention to details is top notch in this build. I really like the texture on the engine wiring hoses. Do you mind informing where you sourced them? 1

They had various colors too

Biggu Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 A small update. I added the air tanks and to the tanks I added a fee of Bren’s fabulous fittings. And I also made a two speed and got it installed and ready for wiring. 1
