Finally got the bench done and all organized (well mostly, I keep seeing more to organize) so getting some bench time. Couple changes to this build and keeping with the mild custom vision. First I decided to use the stretched frame that I built first. Second is the rear fenders. I purchased a set of 3d printed fenders but they are warped and seem to not be able to straighten them, so I modified them for this truck by removing the center piece that was warped. You can see the warpage on the uncut fender. I think this will work.

Looks good either way, Gary!  If you wanted to keep the look of the center piece, any chance of using the piece you cut off as a pattern for one from styrene?

That cut turned out perfectly. And I think Brian has a good idea should you change your mind down the road.  From my seat in the theatre the cutting makes the whole thing look less restricted.  I like this. And it will be killer when completed

Oh I am sure that would be easy enough to do, also considered glueing a brace from the bottom of the center portion back to the opposing underside to pull the warpage out. I have seen that brace on trucks before. But the warpage was in two planes to challenge the brace idea.

Got a rear light bar made up and will also be attachment point for the rear fenders in the rear.  mockup for fit.

Using 1/4 aluminum tubing (6.25 scale inches) , got the bends correct without flat siding the tubing. Got the crossover tube made, now to make the frame hangers and must clear the driveshaft and tank mounts.

Built a headache rack today, but not sure I like it. Look at it in the morning to see if I want to continue or start over.

Few changes this morning, but going with this design for a headache rack. Little bit of cleanup and off to primer.

Did a quick mock-up to find a new problem to solve. I purchased these after market battery boxes from Truck builders model forum and they have good detail, so I want to use them but as you can see the exhaust mounting holes are not in the correct place, so need to plug those four holes and make exhaust mounts off the back of the cab. Will switch to Auslowe exhaust, which was the original plan. I can still move the fuel tanks back a bit for exhaust clearance

  I sanded the sides (triangular shape on the side) thinner to mske them look more correct.

Did some experimenting with an exhaust mount. Problem is cab tapers in on the sides and rear tapers forward. Think I could use 123 blocks to keep them square. Think on it tonight to see if any other idea comes up.

I am going with these mounts for the exhaust, got the square. Holes plugged where the exhaust was to be mounted. Now remove crappy molded in wipers, some cleanup on the cab and ready for primer.
