Magician Posted April 27 Posted April 27 My wife and I retired in July ‘21, and we relocated from Clearwater to Brooksville Florida. My wife and I planned to travel a couple of times a year and to just be homebodies and to discover and work on hobbies and crafts the rest of the time. My big plan was to create a detailed model of all of the cars I wished I had been smart enough to keep over the years. Some, when I was young, were those I built…limited only by finances, knowledge and a couple of times physics…don’t laugh now. I went on a buying spree, three kits, tools, airbrush & compressor, paints, brushes et.al. You get the picture. I thought back and as close as I can remember, my last model was around 1971? I have found that the hobby has advanced…what, no stealing your Mom’s thread for plug wires anymore? I’d been having a some trouble with numbness in my hands and well it wasn’t conducive to productive modeling so I went to the Doctor and thus began a medical journey that I’m sure the mods would not approve of me sharing…but they did get about half the numbness solved. So I’m back to making dust! My first project is the Revell 1/24 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. This was by far my all-time favorite car that I bought in 1975 and constantly modified through 1981, including during four year stint in the USAF. I wasn’t the guy lying about my Hot Rod back home…my junk was in the barracks parking lot, but more often than not at RT’s Speed Shop just off base.(IFYKYK) I currently don’t possess the modeling skills to replicate the car so that is why this forum will be so crucial to any success I may have. I plan to post progress photos and ask for tips and honesty to help me along the way. Realize, if it’s going sideways and I ask for help, I already know it’s not pretty…help a fella out you know. No offense will be taken. I will say one thing…1/24 scale parts are way, way smaller than when I was a kid 🤨. Thanking y’all in advance for allowing me to borrow on your decades of experience. 2

I empathize with the hand and finger numbness dilemma but endeavor to persevere. As I'm sure you will too. Many talented modelers here on the forum who will help if asked. Looking forward to your builds.
