Ron E Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Got terrible contamination with testors gloss black. How can I remove it ?
bobss396 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 You should look to move to a better paint. The only good thing about enamels is, they are usually easy to remove. Not too many places sell them lately. One that you should look at is the Extreme Lacquer line. You need a good automotive grade primer under them. 1
Shark Posted May 17 Posted May 17 I soak in Super Clean, the one in the gallon jug. There is a pinned thread above yours about stripping paint. 1
Swamp Dog Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) Easy Off oven cleaner yellow can. spray on in a well vented area ( enamel paint only ) , let soak 10-12 hrs. with old tooth brush under warm water scrub off. dry and re pete if needed. always ware rubber gloves on any type of cleaner you may use. DJMar Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Yes and yes to all of the above. If the paint is still fresh (for enamel paint, a few days old) oven cleaner will definitely make quick work of it. Even moreso if you didn't use a lacquer primer underneath. Super Clean also works really well, and it also comes in an aerosol if you don't have a container available for soaking.
