Hello there. I have been wanting to do Tamiya's AMG Mercedes 500 model for quite some time now after finishing Koenig's 500 version.

When I got the extra 500 for the instrument panel, I had picked up a set of wheels from Aoshima, their called the Intowner (Tire:Pirelli P-Zero) set and look like the really fancy Brabus 3-spoke wheels, very similar in design to Mercedes emblem. I think these wheels would look sweet on the AMG Mercedes. Question is, how are those wheels mounted? Does Tamiya use the peg-on-wheels, or poly-cap's in wheels method like Fujimi?

I need to ask because the wheels I want to use are like most traditional Fujimi poly-cap's in wheels type mounting. So, I'm very curious as to how Tamiya did it on the AMG. I think Mr. Mike has one? Could you post pictures of Tamiay's AMG wheels? Thank you!

I have yet to "reverse" install wheels. Does the AMG have a body kit on it? I've looked at one while googling it, and the body apeared stock. I'm looking for a mild kit, not aggressive and wide like the KS model. I had thought AMG's was a mild body kit. Also, didn't it have a detailed engine as well?

Thank's guy's. I was afraid the AMG would be peg-on-wheel type. I've yet to build a model where I've mixed types of wheels before.

I had thought the AMG version had at least some sort of mild body kit. Certainly, was not looking for another KS style, but a more milder look yet without being stock.

I had often thought about modifying the KS 500 SL body to fit the AMG chassis so I would have a full engine to work with and figure out how to scratch-build the Koenig either it's a supercharger, or turbo charger unit in the engine bay. However, then there is the question on wheel offsets and the KS 500 SL wheels fitting along with the AMG chassis.

It would certainly be an interesting project to mix the two together.

Nice model! Interesting how your interior is almost the same color as my KS 500! I like your green by the way, what green did you use? It look's close to Model Master's British Metallic Green.

The wheels I have in my stock that I'd like to use on this 500.

Is this a relatively easy model to build? I remembered having the kit along time ago, but I couldn't remember how easy it was to put together. I think some of the chassis was difficult if I remember right.
