Spent most of the morning lowering the suspension and adapting the wheel backs to fit the new wheels. Here's a shot of the stance, let me know what you think

I like it.. stance is nice. How'd you go about lowering my favorite kit there my dude?

Thanks to both of you, gonna try and make this one stand out. I'll post some pictures on how I lowered it. It was fairly straightforward. No real butchering of styrene.

Here's how I lowered it. For the rear i removed the kit trailing arms and made a set of tubular arms, and hollowed out the pockets to the same depth,.080 rod for the arms. 17511297134975038168020210714280.jpg.0181e40201de6e31530c79159ced3297.jpgI also lowered the mounts for the rear assembly about the same, after drilling the locating hole deeper. 17511298731994086387418115822543.jpg.8bbf42f7a6b39eef98217ade0141f921.jpg17511300524055606036043407443379.jpg.c541e63c2d880a0abc61ef78cd29803a.jpg I stopped when this part of the rear differential touched the chassis

On the front, i originally goofed up just trying to "channel" the front assembly into the frame,17511304929766141489455132226918.jpg.1c1694a52829146d5946eac4390a158f.jpg so I moved the spindle mount up towards the upper control arm.17511304065281899369565138848691.jpg.671f2ef24073376e903dd288e7e4197b.jpg Had I not made that mistake, it would probably be lower in the front, but I'm not looking for a "slammed" look. The final part was to remove about .040 from the bottom of the firewall and inner fender, that tucked the chassis up underneath so the frame isn't showing from the side. 17511306334426275333801434390369.jpg.ca5ea235154736dab17e08ea1a01f00d.jpg17511308578831373357300326121375.jpg.13666e6732648f11000c5c6f3c9eb559.jpg

nice work bud

Thanks. It wasn't all that difficult to do, getting the wheels to fit properly wasn't a chore either,I just hope the paint and chrome work on them work out.

Got a little more done tonight. painted the chassis, I wanted this to look like a fairly correct restoration. There's primer overspray, varied coverage of paint, and I tried to include the factory undercoat on the rear wheel wells. There's a couple different blacks, and different sheens,I'm horrible with photography so I'm not sure it shows up well. I still have to do the tank, straps and some subtle weathering.

I’m liking this so far. Thanks for the tutorial on lowering the ride height, will be using that on a couple of builds.

The rear worked out great, and you don't have to build new arms. I'm going for mild hot rod version. The front is best lowered by moving the spindle up towards the control arm, the channeling doesn't gain a whole lot. I "pin" any connections like that for strength.
