RodneyBad Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I gotta ask.....WTF???? I saw the challenger but what the heck is this? That's what I thought. Pics are back now Must have been a photo hosting Glitch.. posted by sigmaman Love the flag on the Piazza(Impulse). Looks great. Thanks and the pics make the lines look soo much cleaner I saw a small faded outline on a hood of a Datsun 510 some years ago. And it just come to me that it would make a cool Tribute to the East who started the Drifting Craze. (in which I barely know anything about except for what I saw on F&F Tokyo Drift ) It is the first, almost 100%, finished model in many yrs. I misplaced one of the chrome wheels. As Per Mr Zinn, Who needs a matching set anywhoo.
steve_b Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Thought I would give an updated pic since I mocked this up to make some measurements for the cage and to check the stance. Don't know if I'll keep the color...it's kinda too dark...and what trim color hasn't been decided yet.......maybe an off white.... still haven't decided to keep the 429 or to go with a different power plant. Decided to keep the interior colors the stock white scheme with the wood just to keep a bit of the original design intact, only change is the rear firewall and rear seat removal. This is the heaviest mod I have done to a kit....so far....so good.......
diymirage Posted July 12, 2009 Author Posted July 12, 2009 still haven't decided to keep the 429 or to go with a different power plant. i have a twin turbo inline 6 from a supra

diymirage Posted July 12, 2009 Author Posted July 12, 2009 hmmmm.....I've got a slant 6 from a Dodge 330 and a cummins turbo here... [encite riot] cant go wrong with a mopar engine in there [/encite riot]
Corvette.Jeff Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 i have a twin turbo inline 6 from a supra There was a kid here in Texas not to long ago that put a 2jz in a 69' camaro. Rumors were that the dyno read out was over 1,000 at the wheels!

The Red Ranger Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 (edited) I have a Tamiya Skyline GT-R 2000 that I would like to do. It really should be done by October 2nd. Can I join? This is a mock-up of what I want to build. All I have done right now is the wheels fit to the car so that should be less than 10%. Edited July 14, 2009 by The Red Ranger

The Red Ranger Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) thats a nice photosoup you got there it would look great if the real paint job comes out like that any word on the engine ? I'm parting out the twin turbo parts from a FnF Supra I have, and going to mod the Nissan engine with that, and Nos. hehe. K I have decided on this for the paint scheme, I am a huge Sundrop fan, but dont have it in Arizona. It makes me want to cry. But that is the main theme behind the paint. For sponsors I am going to do more non-traditional sponsors, but it will be awesome. Hehe. Edited July 15, 2009 by The Red Ranger

diymirage Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 Drifting Jag XJ220? Cool. I thought I did the odd ball car Cool. i think the only real odball in this build off is david thibodeau...he build a drifter that was a kit that was a dedicated drifter
RodneyBad Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 i think the only real odball in this build off is david thibodeau...he build a drifter that was a kit that was a dedicated drifter Excellent point. and you have a twin powered Acura. Who would have thought of that.
B_rad88 Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 thanks diymirage!!!!! i am going to take pics of the plain kit today! i am going to start painting it!!! and ever since the enzo was cancelled in this build! i thougt i would enter the exotic! and that twin eninge AWD acura is MAD!!!!! that is very wicked!!!! here is my inspiration for this jag!!!!!! http://s652.photobucket.com/albums/uu250/K...mview=slideshow
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 hey guys can i ask you witch looks better? TWR modified jaguar xj220 c or the factory modified jaguar xj220 gt thanks for the help!
RodneyBad Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 hey guys can i ask you witch looks better? TWR modified jaguar xj220 c thanks for the help! Tough call but I like the Green with Yellow trim. White is just, soo white.
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 ok, cool! and what about the front bumpers? thanx!!!
diymirage Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 hey guys can i ask you witch looks better? TWR modified jaguar xj220 c or the factory modified jaguar xj220 gt thanks for the help! both of them look impressive and have certain things i like the TWR has the accented air intakes and the factory has the black headlights if it were my car i would go with a base of british racing green (a must on this car IMHO) with maybe a silver accent to the air intakes, almost like the yellow on the TWR but not as wide so that is "dead ends" into the actual inlet then i would paint the headlight housing silver (where the factory version is black) finally i would ad a dab of silver to the front splitter (black on both cars) also, if my car would have the TWR bumper with the canards on it those would be silver aswell regardless of which bumper is used i would fill in the upper grille (between the foglights) and smooth it all out like it never was there i think it would give the car a much more agressive look (it also opens up posibilities to widen the bottom grille) lastly, the silver accents can be painted any colour you like of course, but i would accent those parts
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 thank you for the ideas! i didn't like the fog lights on the twr jag, but they fit it! and fill in the vent? HUM......... i never thought of that! thank you very much! i plan n trimming the middle vent out of the bonnet and i am going to have to make my own wing! FUN!!!! lol! one thing i am going to have perfect is the vents on the top of the rear finders! oh, and the rear is going to get the full treatment too!
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 hey guys, here is a pic of the kit! here is a pic of the deep dish wheels mock-up! all i did so far is take the inner wheel move it to the outside to give the deep dish look! here is the stock wheel next to the deep dish! thanks for looking!
diymirage Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 looking good seems like you ave plenty of ideas , hope it all comes long nice which reminds me, i should work on mine
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 (edited) thank you! i might change a couple of things though! after looking at the front nose on the jag, it would be difficult to cut out the head lights and make buckets for it! its a very tight area inside the body! and one other thing i am going to need white TWR decals!
