Lownslow Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I cut the grille out of the Dodge Magnum with the plan to put in a straight bar billet grille. Anybody got any idea how to make a billet grille? take some tape and lay square and round stock of your choosing back to back till you reach your opening size. then remove every other strip, glue some bracing and youre set. ive done this about 3 or 4 times its better to use low tack blue tape to prevent it from breaking
FujimiLover Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) however you make it, dont' forget to use the good'ol BMF aluminum for final finish. Another great idea, I've done this once before, is to find spare shaver screens. They have a nice grill look to'em. They do come in different sizes and shapes, so find one that is closest to your shape. The shaver screens are metal, but thin enough that their relatively easy to cut. They also almost have that popular honey-comb design to theme. Good luck! Of coarse, if you use the shaver screen, BMF is not required. ...................sorry, I didnt' pay attention to the fact that you were specifically going to go for a bar-design. Not sure about that. I just thought of the shaver screens as a form of grill for cars. Edited May 11, 2009 by FujimiLover
crazyjim Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll have to try the tape thing and the shaver screens sounds interesting too. Thanks again.
