BIGTRUCK Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) I have the need to try something new for me so here goes: AMT AeroChief cab and interior mounted on the old IMC Dodge L700 chassis with engine. J/F resin flat car hauler and J/F resin tire/wheels. I had to skirt the bottom of the flatbed all around to bring it down some to make it look taller. Chassis was stretched 3" in front of the rear springs. When looking close its possible for the cab to tilt on the Dodge pins with La France interior bottom with some slight mods but looks doable as long as the cabs not real heavy. The look I'm going for is the hotrod/ratrod look as in the posted internet pic. Thanks to DJ Moore (TechMan) for his Firetruck kit leftovers for this bash. Edited June 29 by BIGTRUCK 4

Firebuilder Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Nice build! I will be following this one. Gives me a few ideas.
TECHMAN Posted July 2 Posted July 2 All I can say, is...... W O W !!!!!! This is gonna be some kind of wild!!!!!! DJ
BIGTRUCK Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 After doing summer things all summer its time to get back and get some work done on this hauler. Not much of an update but I blended in the bed skirts and got the cab to tilt. The only issue is the radiator, I laid it back to follow the contour of the interior floor. Pretty much all the modifications are done, getting 3 different kits to work in harmony has been a chore. 5
TopherMcGinnis Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Cool build! I can only imagine how funky it is to drive that! 1
BIGTRUCK Posted Sunday at 02:46 PM Author Posted Sunday at 02:46 PM I came across a few Italeri Truck Shop Accessories kits and so began some changes on the fly ...decided to go glossy and chrome on this hauler. I started with bigger tires and wheels, they filled in the wheel wells better and then shot some bright red paint. Lots of chrome from the kit and accessory pack so this really changes things from the original idea. 3
gotnitro? Posted Sunday at 04:20 PM Posted Sunday at 04:20 PM Fantastic color ! You can't go wrong w red and chrome on a fire truck lol 1
BK9300 Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM All the chrome should really pop against that colour - will look great! 1
TECHMAN Posted yesterday at 12:00 PM Posted yesterday at 12:00 PM Again, W O W !!!!!!! Guess now that you're gonna have to "upgrade" the car it's hauling 😉 Amazing job there Ken !!! 👍👍 DJ 1
Rockford Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Yes the carrier will outshine the car! What a great looking machine. Love it.
BIGTRUCK Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Thanks to all for the kind support..with all the snow this weekend and it just started to snow again, so I was able to go further. Since the chassis is an extended Lindberg Dodge L-700 I will have to cobble up some kind of exhaust. The steerable front end is another story. I wanted them to operate but the spindles are a joke..they work by pressure fit but eventually with the weight of tires and wheels they just fall off. Now epoxied in place, end of problem.😁 2
