FujimiLover Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Picture's aren't the best as I didn't have an appropiate background to contain all four cars. But here they are all together. KS Ferrari Testarossa Competition KS Mercedes 500 SL KS Porsche 928, thank's Mr. Mike! KS Lamborghini Diablo! Except for the Diablo, I have had all of these models once long ago, but I've never had'em all together in a perfect groupe! I'm very satisfied with all four builds dispite minor impeffections each one has. But as a group, they sure look great together and I'm proud to display theme. I need to find a large enough display case to protect all of theme together as one big happy family! Will need to find a case that will house these four, plus three more KS models as I've still got the 911, Competition Spider, and Countach to build. Does such a display case exist and how much do they cost? How big are they and where can I get one?
diymirage Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 very nice i would suggest building a diorama of a showroom
sigmaman Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Great models of great cars mate. If you have an IKEA store within reac try there. They have some great display ideas. You could always build something nice yourself.
FujimiLover Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 I know one place I can try first. A local store called Hightower Collectibles that has a very nice collection of some sweet die-cast models and airplanes. They have a huge scale model of a Cobra worth over $1,000 dollars! I think it's skin is real metal too! I'd like to get a big-azz KS logo made for the display as well, maybe a chequred-board style floor?
vizio93 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 ohh yea i knew all four of those would look absolutley great together. i can see them on a curvy mountain road all trying to get pass each other !!! can't wait to see all of them done!!!

beefheart22 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Those four look great together! I think that's a collection you can hang your hat on.
diymirage Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Hmmmmmmm, maybe I need to build a 1/24 scale chunk of the German Autobaun? "spelling?" i remember doing 120 in my 1990 opel E kadett (last model pontiac lemans) with a 1.4 liter 8 valve engine once i got passed 90 i locked the doors cos i was afraid they might fall off it was awesome i wonder how my turbo passat would do on the autobahn oh yes, what i was going to say, if you do go with the checkered floor , go to your local wally world and pick up a roll of kitchen cabinet liner that would make a great scale showroom floor
FujimiLover Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Wally World? You mean Walmart? I checked my local HighTower Collectible store, and he said he could order a display case that can house 7 1/24 scale model cars all together, but they cost around 200 dollars. He didn't give me exact dimensions or exact cost so I didn't go with that. He suggested going to Hobby Lobby next which I haven't done so yet. I'm picturing something with maybe 3-4 foot square by 4-5 feet size shape with maybe 1 foot highth type of display case. Something that could go ontop of our coffee table. Whenever I've completed model cars, weather it was my RC-Mini-Z's, or these Koenig's, I like displaying theme ontop of the coffee table while watching tv. But might not be the brightest thing to do with a 2 year old Irish Setter running around. So, that's why I'd like a display case for'em. I'm trying to picture one of those nice large ones they have for big model airplanes.
