meechum68 Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Some interior work today ... me and tweezers .. was afraid I would lose the little buggers I was working on. 3
meechum68 Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 And yes, I used the instructions for that. Didn't want things to not look right, even though you will not see them unless right on top of the kit.

meechum68 Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Thank you John! Been doing a bit here and there, plus working on the 3 other kits in process. 1
customline Posted September 23 Posted September 23 (edited) Nice wheels, Michael! I gotta see those wheels under that murder victim 😜. That clean interior is pretty cool too. Edited September 23 by customline 1

If it goes well, then it's glass, and the very very few bits of chrome for the body. I have a few more minor bits for the interior to do, and have to mount the engine and then will wrap up the suspension stuff. I wanted something interior wise to pop against the murder.

I wanted something interior wise to pop against the murder. You certainly won that one! It looks like that cheap sparkle stuff we loved in the late '50s 😊. Good on the paint plan. I did a satin black Krylon job on a '40 coupe. No hood, gold firewall...very hoodlum. 🥴 1
meechum68 Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Thanks! Tbh, I had thought about the no hood, but was like.... let the under the hood be a surprise. 1
meechum68 Posted September 25 Author Posted September 25 A bit more work tonight done. The interior shot was in progress. I have to do some touch up painting tomorrow. 2
customline Posted September 25 Posted September 25 I don't know about you, Michael, but we're ready for a mock-up 😛 2
Glassparman Posted September 25 Posted September 25 That interior looks great. I always hated molded in window cranks and door handles. 1
meechum68 Posted Sunday at 01:49 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:49 AM Oh look what I have for ya @customline ... I am about 2 days roughly from getting this closer to being done. I have to get some solder for exhaust pipe and make some mufflers at that time. But without further ado: 2
customline Posted Sunday at 04:36 PM Posted Sunday at 04:36 PM I would think the exhaust system should be fairly easy with a separate frame and floor pan. I might even try with styrene rod of appropriate size bent cold mostly....but solder works. Interior looks great, the spare well might look better painted floor color, but that's just me. I'm sitting here with my kit on my lap and I'm wondering what that round thing on the bottom under the passenger side might be. There's things there that I don't recognize. Those things may need paint detail. 🤔.... a mystery to investigate. Somebody knows..... 1

Thanks on the interior, the spare well isn't seen, but I get how it would improve the aesthetics. And yeah that thing has me for a loop. I have seen some random things but that one... no idea. (I looked about online and wasn't able to find anything clear on it, maybe underseat heat? cuz the bigger moldings look like hoses.)

I looked at my kit for a closer look but came up empty. It looks like it could be a fan motor for a heater core under the seat. It's weird but who knows? Back in those days, it's a possibility. I know they had heaters because my grandfather had a '47 Aero ( I recall barfing in the back seat 🤢) up north where it was a necessary option due to long, cold winters. meechum68 Posted Monday at 12:48 AM Author Posted Monday at 12:48 AM (edited) Yeah, I will be doing a little spot painting .. because of this: I laugh cuz I understand the north, and getting sick isnt fun. Edited Monday at 12:49 AM by meechum68 1
Big Messer Posted Monday at 12:53 AM Posted Monday at 12:53 AM A turn of the blue masking tape on the ends of the tweezers may help preventing things to fly away. 1
