martsky Posted August 16 Posted August 16 When the MPC Howmet turbine cars came out I hated the engine. There are always alternatives I thought. Perhaps Ford's Indy Car V8. Maybe the Tamiya Nissan R390. 4
stavanzer Posted August 17 Posted August 17 What a great Trio! Could you possibly share close up pics of the Engines? They are so neat!
martsky Posted August 17 Author Posted August 17 Here you go. The white and blue cars both have the Ford quad cam engine from the MPC Gurney Eagle Indy car. Mostly box stock except I did a lot of filing and shaping of the one piece "bundle of snakes" exhaust casting to try to obtain a more correct multipiece exhaust system look. The silver car has the Tamiya Nissan R390 engine which was a very oddly shaped V8 and is now converted to a V12. In case you were wondering, the silver car body has been widened 16" and lengthened 20" to match the Tamiya suspension and chassis. 1 1
ea0863 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Wow, two beauties! I have to think though that the silver car was quite the undertaking to get all that plumbing in so perfectly! Looks like you've done this before
stavanzer Posted Monday at 04:25 AM Posted Monday at 04:25 AM Thanks for adding the Pics! Wonderful Detailing!
