Andria H Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Another one I got from Rattle Can Man. Rustoleum Spa Blue paint was aged/distressed with artist's oil paints and sandpaper & tamiya panel wash, panel lines are highlighted, emblems/front window glass trim/side marker bases/etc are all detailed, interior is set up as a hauler van with a Bostrom air-ride driver's seat and 3-passenger sideways facing bench. I added some 70s styled commercial logos to the sides and back door & will be adding a stowed spare tire. Interior walls will be detailed, with a vintage Budweiser Beer mirror sign in scale to go above the side facing back seat, and the inside of the body is detailed where paneling will not go. Inspiration from this 1/1 '77 G30
Andria H Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Current progress. The hood has been opened & made positionable to show the detail under there (which includes a battery, steering column, master cylinder/booster, radiator, and a bit of the engine), the grille is dechromed and detrimmed with the front bumper bent/dented to conceal a short-shot molding on the left end of the bumper, rear dirt tires/standard front tires are fitted, the front glass is in and distressed to match the rest of the model, and the frame is test-fitted but not yet detailed/weathered. I am using a Monogram Chevy Luv V8 swap air filter on this build to replace the crude chrome air filter supplied in the kit, and may switch out the rocker covers for the custom items from that engine. The engine will be painted in GM corporate blue to look like a 1980s/90s era replacement crate engine, with a black air filter and dechromed timing cover, hubcaps will be Dullcoated and dinged up, a first aid kit and shortwave receiver will be fitted inside along with a black & woodgrain dash panel, black steering wheel with gold bowtie logo, & scratchbuilt wood engine cover console, and side/rear door glass will be made from scrap materials. The battery may receive a Union 76 gas station logo to look like an older gas-station battery, and oil/parts logos may go on the glass, back doors & firewall.
