Helveg Posted October 5 Posted October 5 This new Slavinos JR kit is to replicate Joey Logano 2024 Ford Mustang Phoenix race. Curbside model is planned to be built.
Helveg Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 The kit looks great as usual, I expect to spend some joyful time with it. 2
Helveg Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 I have started from body sanding and engaving of the panel lines. Then opened several holes for radiator intake, cooling of the brakes, exhausts and hood grills. 2
Helveg Posted October 6 Author Posted October 6 The paint of the base yellow is finished with no significant inperfections. 2
Helveg Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 Have the floor painted and pre-assembled back part of the cage. Looking for СF decals. Those from Cartograph are out of stock 😞 2

Helveg Posted October 8 Author Posted October 8 I have some progress today. Tested the windshield - all looks quite acceptable. I have done some extra polishing around wind edges to make make them sit even. The body is painted from inside. The threshold is painted black (for this car it is black but not CF). Continued assembling the cage on the floor with some heat reflecting foil. 2

Helveg Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Slow progress so far. Small parts are preped and painted. 1
Helveg Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 (edited) Managed to finish the "worst" part of decal works - these red/black strips and tail light stickers. Bottom skirting of the body is black with only СF part around the exhaust same as original. There is also yellow strip on the bottom of the skirt. Edited October 10 by Helveg 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Doing a beautiful job. Detailing is great. Keep doing what you're doing. Fine work. 1

Helveg Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 The ref pic for decalling. A lot of job coming... 2
Helveg Posted October 14 Author Posted October 14 (edited) Some progress after several days passed applying the decals. I had to install back windows before the clear coat due to "Snap-on" decal partially covering glazed part. There is a manufacturer's mistake of "22 crew" tail decal. Word "Crue" should be red, but I can't do anything about it. The overall decals are great quality, very thing and easy to apply. Edited October 14 by Helveg 2
Ben269 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 This is looking great, seeing all the pieces in detail like this makes me want to build one of these new style kits. 1
Helveg Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 I have clear coated the body and need to wait several days until it allows polishing. Meanwhile, I will take care about interior. Having thought it will be almost covered and not too much exposed, the overall detail level of interior is not too high. 3
Helveg Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 Hi mates! Some update of the build is here. I consider this interior as done, cause it will be permanently covered with the body. No need also to detail the engine bay and the trunk area. Next is suspension coming. 1
Helveg Posted Friday at 12:34 PM Author Posted Friday at 12:34 PM Chassis is ready. I have left the engine bay and the trunk area almost untouched as they will be closed forever after body marriage. Completion of the entire project is coming. 2
Helveg Posted Monday at 09:45 AM Author Posted Monday at 09:45 AM Project is finished. Except minor inconsistences in decals, everything came together perfectly. I saved the engine parts as it will not be visible anyway, thus there is a chance to build the engine and expose it as standing alone. Will see hot it work. 1
