There is a YouTube channel, "Barbatos Rex," that has many videos with useful tips and product tests. Much of his content has proven very helpful and money-saving to me. He sure spends a lot of his money on supplies he tests. However, he often references "my own paint line."

I cannot believe he's actually making paint, or even very involved in developing colors. Even looking at the bottles, with their cheap looking labels, further solidifies my opinion.

There are many hobby paint suppliers, and an abundance of colors available. Does anyone else think this is a repackaging money grab, or do you think there is something special or unique about "his" products?

He is not making the paint, but has ..I believe teamed with partners to make paint and influenced or has helped in designing an airbrush. The producers of products use his YouTube presence as advertisement. IMO

He's one of the larger model building channels, creator's and companies pair up for advertising/profit opportunities. Think athletes and heath supplement companies, same idea. He's got tons of subscribers,I'm certain those products are made to a price point, and target a specific group of modelers. Honestly, for all I know, they could be a re-badged version of something already available or an old product under a different name. I've used his channel for information only, and rarely at that. I prefer to stick with proven products, unless a new idea or method/product really interests me. I'm thinking it's a "monetary gains situation".
