Classic Plastic 56 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Hey all! I previously posted my "First Car" a '71 Chevy Nova. I was thinking, what if... my Nova ended up as an Oval track racer? The body is from the AMT Chevy Nova "Old Pro" kit. The Chassis is from the AMT '65 Chevelle Modified Stocker kit. I made my own custom decals. This is how it turned out. Comments welcome. 5 1
stavanzer Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Great Job! Looks like the Bomber Stocks used to when I was a Kid. Good Show. 1
Volzfan59 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Great job! I really like what you’ve done. What did you do to bring the rear ride height down? Those Modified Stocker Chevelle kits were notorious for the rear end being jacked up. 1
TonyK Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Yep, you did a good job on this. It needs to be dirtied up a bit. I think that would bring out the racy look more.
Classic Plastic 56 Posted November 22 Author Posted November 22 Thanks for all the positive comments. Makes me want to build another! Steve- I just messed around with the shock placement until I had the right ride height. Tony- You are correct Sir! It's way too clean. I need to add dirt, tire marks etc. and some paint scuffs.
Classic Plastic 56 Posted Saturday at 03:59 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:59 PM Hey all! The Nova got a workout last week. Things got a little dirty. Hope you like it. 2
Volzfan59 Posted Saturday at 05:22 PM Posted Saturday at 05:22 PM Looks like you laid the smack down to a red car! If they won’t move after a lap give ‘em a shot. Still won’t move, send ‘em.
bobss396 Posted Sunday at 02:34 PM Posted Sunday at 02:34 PM After a race, we would walk around the car and tried to identify who I was trading paint with. 1

I’ve done that too @bobss396! It was always kinda interesting to me to see some of the dings or rub marks that I never felt inside the car. 1

And if someone comes up to your car as you exit the track... they are not there to tell you what a great race you just ran. 1

If someone runs at your car... put your helmet back on and let them punch it. 1
