OldNYJim Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Came across this online recently; the color schemes didn’t age very gracefully, but they still caught my eye…were any of these available or reissued in more conventional form? 1
Straightliner59 Posted November 19 Posted November 19 I am positive that they're all MPC tools. I've built the '34. It was the first thing I built, in 1982, after a short (4-5 year) hiatus from building. It reaffirmed my passion for this stuff! The 935 Porsche could serve a a basis for a decent model with some (quite a bit) work. However, the Matchbox 1/32 935 is a gem! MPC also did an IMSA Mustang, like the 1/24 Monogram kits that could provide a nice start for something better! 2

Mattblack Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Looks like the '34 and and Chevy pick up are the old MPC Dukes of Hazzard 'Dukes Digger' and 'Cooter's Cruiser' Kits? 1

Straightliner59 Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Here are some poor photos of the Mustang. I lowered the ride height, by quite a bit. 2 1
OldNYJim Posted November 23 Author Posted November 23 Sigh…looks like I found another rabbithole of kit collecting to go down… Thanks for the insights, fellas! 2 1

I really like the Matchbox kits. They're absolutely gorgeous. I have several of those, currently. I can't speak to their buildability, but the kits are beautiful. Also, Monogram had some old stuff that included a Willys Gasser, and a '34 Ford Altered. It's an interesting world!
Can-Con Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Some f those 1/32 MPC snap kits go way back. Here's a couple pages from the '78 catalogue,, The ones on the bottom page were released earlier. They're in the '77 catalogue also. , , , and a few pages from the '82 catalogue,, and a couple more from '84. I don't remember ever seeing the 4 door Monaco police car on the shelves, possibly a "phantom kit" 2
Rob Hall Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Neat..I don't think I have any AMT or MPC 1/32nd snap kits, but I built a bunch of Revell, Monogram and Lindberg ones as a kid in the late 70s-early 80s.
