J.B. Customs Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Cab fresh out of paint didn’t turn out to bad a couple of spots that will need touching up but all in all I think I like it well enough to go ahead and start this build right off the bat I can see shorting the frame and swapping out the Detroit with the auto stick for a Cummins with a manual shift. Just brainstorming for now 6
Rockford Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Looks great, interesting choice of colours. Will look great. 1
J.B. Customs Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 Well I took an 1” out of the frame rails witch if my calculations are correct this should give this build a 216” wheel base (center of front axle to the center of the rear tandems) I am thinking I should have taken out another 1/2” will see how it goes 3
Rockford Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Good idea, this is a great kit, especially for AMT, but the chassis length is an issue. Was its first incarnation as Tyrone Malone's transporter chassis? That would explain it. 1
gotnitro? Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Beautiful paint scheme ! The revised frame length looks good to me, but I like the longer look better on an aerodyne cab
J.B. Customs Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 Stuck at home last night in the first snowstorm of the year so I worked a little bit on the frame this is the first time building the Aerodyne kit everything went together smoothly hardly any flashing on the parts really like the rear suspension. I am trying to keep this build simple as possible very little modifications besides shortening the frame rails and swapping the motor 2
J.B. Customs Posted yesterday at 01:41 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:41 AM Can’t seem to stay focused on one thing maybe I will get back to the frame next week and finish up the front motor mount and the brackets for the half fenders and then maybe finish the interior 2
Bills72sj Posted yesterday at 02:35 AM Posted yesterday at 02:35 AM Following. I have one of these kits as well. I have vague plan to kitbash it as I am not likely to build it box stock.
