RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted November 23 Posted November 23 New restoration - 1963 Buick Electra 225 Convertible I've included pics at the end showing what this car looked like the way the original builder built it back in '63. 14
Mike 1017 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Nice. Classic color combo. Personally, I would have left it as is because it reminds me of how I use to build model cars way back when
Carmak Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Nice resto. You have been posting a series of nice cars, well done! I am a big fan of 63 Buick Electras. Over the years I have accumulated over a half dozen rebuilders and they are typically missing the front corner lights. Last spring I carefully measured a corner light I did have, and I did a little research on the actual bezel and lens. I did some CAD work and 3D printed replacement parts. The pics show an actual lens with horizontal ribs (the kit piece has a mesh pattern), my CAD design and the initial printed parts compared to original piece. After I took the comparison pic I did a little careful sanding and got the fit almost perfect. Now that I have the corner lights, I am starting to restore some of my collection. Hope it comes out as nice as yours.

junkyardjeff Posted Thursday at 06:38 PM Posted Thursday at 06:38 PM Looks great and it seems like every ,60s build has all the extras glued on.
XYHARRY Posted Saturday at 09:11 AM Posted Saturday at 09:11 AM This resto looks like it may have been a little easier than some, due to it not being painted by the original owner. Well done Racine.
dino246gt Posted Sunday at 03:09 PM Posted Sunday at 03:09 PM You definitely "saved" that one, great job!
