I really enjoyed this build.  Great kit, pretty goes together all by itself.

Paint by Tamiya, Engine by Iceman, Tires/Wheels by Aoshima, mufflers by Resins by Reese. (Will install those once they arrive)

After so many paint issues, and such this girl is done!

Nice one Michael, good to see you got it finished.

Thats a lotta engine, good thing it has the meaty wides on the rear.

The Aoshima Enkei dish wheels were a wise selection for Hakosuka.

Well done.

Thank you Luke!

I felt that car was made for a monster V-8, and of course the 6 it has is a beast, but I wanted something different. And when I set the engine in the bay and it sat with no major issues. It was a done deal.

I appreciate it. Will do the update posts once I get the mufflers in my hand.

Man, that looks awesome. I’ve looked at this kit in the hobby shop but never purchased it. After seeing this, may have to change that situation. Nice work! 👍🏻

Thanks man!  I am starting to consider doing one of these with a big fat blower, slicks, tubbed and such.  Plus this kit pretty much builds itself. Tamiya did an amazing job with this.

Beautiful paint work.

Thank you Tom! I had a bit of work to get it to this point, including using the body out of my 2nd kit.

Killer build! You nailed this one. Absolutely awesome paint and stance. That engine is all business.

John, thank you sir! The stance is what came directly out of the kit.  And the paint, well you saw the all trials lol! I will not lie, I am super thrilled with this paint job. It really impressed me.

When my group announced the build requirements, I asked if it had to be box stock, and here we are with this build.

Yeah, she fought you a bit, for sure. I've been there, all part of the hobby. I swear sometimes projects take on a mind of their own, no matter what they are, and kinda point you where the want to end up.

Yeah, and I think it was just the color I wanted to go with for the kit.  Had I went with what I laid down, I would of been done sooner with it. (Minus the mufflers)

That build is super cool!!!

I am actually in the process of building a street machine out of the same kit. I am using the blown Chevy big block from the Heavy Chevy kit from Monogram.

Thank you Chad! Post up a WiP on yours!  I am curious to see the Heavy Chevy Big Block in it.
