So...y'all were worried about AI and robots replacing you in your jobs?

Well, pets need to be learning new skillsets to stay relevant too:

Well...there it is.

The stupidest thing I'll see today.

AI can't replace a pet. I mean, will AI require a $5000 MRI, and physiotherapy once a month for most of a year to deal with an fibro-cartilligenous embolism?

I think not.

She looks to be a few sarnies short of a picnic to begin with.

I was also thinking 'pet rock' than another rather useless emotional item crossed my mind, the 'mood ring'. I may be stepping on some toes here, but another phenomenon that has taken over the country is 'service dogs'. I do realize the good they accomplish for the people who need them. My beef is with all these war-painted soccer moms who can't stand being away from "fifi" long enough to buy groceries and have to bring their dog into the store with them.

The whole 'service animal' thing is becoming kind of a joke, man...... More of a money racket than anything else! With enough funds, you too can have your elephant registered as a service pet! Emmett is a registered ESA with a real company. He doesn't get to go into stores or any of that, as he's 'just' an ESA. I felt no need to go full-blown service dog with his registration, as I don't feel that entitled............

Right there with you on that. Like any "system", it's abused and loopholes exploited.

Bots and AI replacing pets ?       With vets fees being what they are. Who knows ?

I think that I will settle for a real cat or dog you can relate to any day. Vets fees, poo clearing and and fur balls included !

Don't worry. Customer service and "repairs" being what they are for consumer-grade electronics, when the mecha furball dies, you'll just have to buy another one.

And no worries about burying the old one, 'cause it won't rot.

And between the pet rock and Pokémon were furbies. Every generation has it's suckers. (Ok, I admit to owning a couple of furbies, I just sold them at my yard sale this past summer).
