bandit1 Posted Saturday at 08:19 PM Posted Saturday at 08:19 PM (edited) Another project while I wait to figure out a primer situation on my Sport pickup is this. Sod Buster 81/82 Stepside Chevy P/U. This will be a model of an actual truck that exists somewhere for it was my uncle's old truck I helped with before he sold it and later passed away a year or so later. I will be using the conversion from LCP to build it as a 2 wheel drive C10 in black. The only thing is the stripes and finding the correct wheels in scale. (Sadly I don't have any pictures of the truck) so I'll be going off memory on the build. Edited Saturday at 08:20 PM by bandit1 1
1972coronet Posted Saturday at 08:29 PM Posted Saturday at 08:29 PM Do you have a link to the Luka Cee conversion parts ?Â
Valvefloat Posted Saturday at 08:43 PM Posted Saturday at 08:43 PM Ill be watching this since I had a black 1982 GMC Sierra short-step, 305, auto, 10 bolt. Changed to 468, 12 bolt 10 mpg street truck...ahh memories
bandit1 Posted Saturday at 08:53 PM Author Posted Saturday at 08:53 PM Thinned out all the 4*4 stuff and the bucket seats except the chrome tree parts that I won't be using or needing on this build. Need to find a factory bench seat, wheels/tires and figure out the pinstripe situationÂ

bandit1 Posted Sunday at 01:22 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:22 AM Just noticed... Not only is the tailgate trim for the GMC variant in the kit as a chrome piece but also on the chassis it says "1984 GMC Used under license" on it
bandit1 Posted Sunday at 01:30 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:30 AM This is where I'm going to call it a Night at. Everything is ready for primer/paint (except resin conversion pieces is soaking to remove release agents for painting later) 1
Mattilacken Posted Sunday at 11:27 PM Posted Sunday at 11:27 PM I like these trucks the best in 2wd version! As well as the blazers shall be 4wd😄 will be following!Â
Can-Con Posted yesterday at 12:30 AM Posted yesterday at 12:30 AM Sean, does the 2wd conversion come with the tranny crossmember? They're different then the 4X4 crossmembers as they don't have to mount the transfer case. I know the one on my original annual had a different one but I don't remember if it was a separate part or molded as part of the frame. 1

It is a Separate part... (I think) Looks like the 2 wheel drive trans member is not there but the 4x4 one can become a 2 wheel drive if you eliminate the red part then the yellow part becomes that 2 wheel drive crossmember (at least what I can tell and probably what I'll do now thanks to you pointing it out?)
