PL Talladega Chassis with MPC Cyclone Body - advice needed

Going through old pics from my workbench 'innaday' when I got a lot more done ... found my mockup shots of a Cyclone/Tally swap and got me thinking - SOMEONE on this forum must have done this swap already.

Wondering what the best way to resolve the PL cage/chassis assembly riding about 3/32 -- 1/8 inch too 'deep' into the taller roof of the Cyclone?  Can't stand to see a cage that isn't nicely tucked in... rrr.... pet peeve. 

Do you space the bottom of the cage from the chassis pan? Do tricks with the body? 

There has to be a way for it to knit together properly... if I had the 3D skills, I'd knock out the conversion bits now. Any ideas or insights most welcome!
