My 1964 Monogram 1/24 scale Midget/model slot car I still have to this day!!!

Hello everyone So I started building model cars just over 3 months ago and joined this forum, and it’s the best thing I’ve done in long while. So I don’t know if this is the right category for this build I did when I was 13. It says nascar, stock cars, late model, etc. So I thought I would take it off the book case where it has been for a lot of years. It is 1/2 model. Does that count as experience if I was so young? I got it at a local slot car store that had just opened, really small place, that I rode my bike by during my paper route. So one day I went in and was watching guys racing. Started talking to the owner and rented a car and controller and had a blast! They told me about an upcoming 10 week series for  these midget cars. So I saved my money and bought one. I think it was about $5 or 6 for car and controller. Wow that was a lot of money! My parents thought that was cool. So I went to a local hobby store and bought some spray paint, Testors bottle paint kit, glue and went home and started to build it So fast forward, I raced against guys a lot older and some experience and I won the series!! First place and this is the trophy I won. I still have them both to this day! Sorry they are so dusty, but I think the car just won a 100 lap victory at the now gone Ascot racetrack in Gardena, California (haha) Thanks for letting me share a little bit of my past. (still see my name I hand painted below the windscreen)
