Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Hey, y'all. Does anyone here race XMODS EVOs? I bought a custom made 1969 Chevelle body for the XMODS EVO chassis, and I'm looking for a chassis and controller.
B_rad88 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 i do! i race them all the time! i spent over $1000 for a huge drift track, and all the performance parts and accessories for my evo and my new nissan r35 gt-r! i can get you a chassis and controler? would that be all you need? and what do you have to trade?
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 What are lookin' for? Yep, all I need is the chassis, controller, and of course matching chrystals. wheels and tires, too.
B_rad88 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 batteries? just the basic stuff? and do you still have the viper?
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Yep, the Viper is still available. Here's a picture of the body I bought. I'm calling the car "Blue Rebel". Edited June 14, 2009 by Mustang3.8
B_rad88 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 you wanna trade the viper for the xmod stuff? just to get this correct, you want the whole thing except the body, right?
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Yeah. I need everything but the body. Ican trade the Viper for the XMODS stuff. It's an EVO chassis, right.
B_rad88 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 this is the xmod that i have! and this is just the gt-r body, i have other bodies to go on it, but i need to paint them! is this right? this is the only xmod chassis that i have seen! if its any different let me know! but to the best of my knowledge, all xmods are the same, just different bodies!
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Yeah, that's what I need. I'm just starting out with this thing, so I don't know a thing, but here's a pic of the first gen XMODS chassis, and the new EVO. Great job on the lighting, BTW. It looks really cool. Thanks for your help, Brandon. I can't wait to get Blue Rebel running. Edited June 8, 2009 by Mustang3.8

Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks for the link. I checked them out. Lot's of info.
FujimiLover Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 If you want a really great chassis, go with Kyosho's MA010 AWD chassis from their 1/28 Mini-Z series. The AWD is far superior out of the box than Xmods. Xmods are good for kids, beginners, and they were cool for tuners as the original ones had optional body kits. I'm tempted to get the Audi R8 and put it ontop of the AWD Mini-Z chassis if/when I get back into the scene. I think Xmods did a great job with the Audi R8 from what I've seen in the boxes, but I'd like to get one out in the open and really examine it. While the two cars, Xmods and Mini-Zs are of same scale, they have different methods for mounting the body onto the chassis, so some modifications will be required. You will want to get the newer 2.4 GHZ AWD chassis as it will be glitch free, and will not require any crystals for operation. It is more expensive, but much more worth having than the 50 dollar Xmod. Plus their are much better higher quality upgrades for the Mini-Z as well. If you can save up to around 300, go for the 2.4. BTW, their are carbon-fiber driveshafts available for the AWD's!
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I actually looked into those, but my Chevelle body was custom made exlusivly for the XMODS EVO chassis. I'm being hooked up with some XMODS EVO stuff from a very generous member. Thanks for the tip, though.
FujimiLover Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 The bodies do fit differently, but as I said, modifications have been done before to make one body fit the other type. I'm hoping the R8 will fit the AWD Mini-Z.
B_rad88 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 hey they didn't have the mustang any more. sorry! but i do have the chassis and controller for you!
