jbwelda Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 anyone else notice on ebay that all of a sudden there are like a bazillion Monogram Big Tubs listed? ive been watching for those and similar 1/8 scale rods for a few years now and up until about a month ago, there would be maybe one or two every six months or so and that was about it. they were pretty rare. as of yesterday when i looked again, there were 5 or 6 in various conditions from parts cars to still in the box examples, all presumably listed in the past week. its funny what a reissue will do. whats even funnier is when the reissue that is planned is cancelled! personally though. i always still appreciate and value the original and a reissue doesnt really take away from that. it *does* make them affordable again though and that means more builders and ideas out there. i think the next one i do will be a beat down rat rod which is what the last one i did started out to be!
Zoom Zoom Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I never, ever trust something will really get reissued (or issued in the first place) until I see it on the store shelf. There are probably a lot more original '66 Impalas showing up on Feebay these days as well.
sfhess Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 This happens every time they announce a new kit or a reissue of a kit that hasn't been available for a long time.....
