Harry P. Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Trim the decal off the sheet right to the edge of the color... don't leave any carrier film.
Raul_Perez Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Jeff, Can you scan and reprint the decals on fresh decal material?
Harry P. Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Sometimes on older decal sheets the clear carrier film will yellow with age. I've heard about a trick where you tape the decal sheet inside a window and expose the sheet to the sun for several hours. The sunlight supposedly clears up the carrier film and gets rid of the yellowing. I've never tried this, only heard about it... so I can't recommend it from personal experience, but I thought I'd pass it on for what it's worth.
jbwelda Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Future or equivalent might take care of the fogging; probably not the yellowing though.

I've done what Raul suggests here, when I had the same problem your having. Not only did it work great, but I was able to have spare sets for other projects. Good luck - dave
935k3 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 If they are yellowed on the sheet before applying a few days taped to a sunny window will clear them up. Are they Monogram decals? They had allot of excess glue that needed cleaned off before drying. If it is hazy or foggy around edges and not yellow it may be silvering which is possible even if a glossy base is under it, especially over dark colors. MicroSol set underneath can help with that.
chris coller Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Jeff, I might be able to get my hands on a decent set of decals with no yellowing. Let me know if you are interested.
chris coller Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Let me make a call. I will PM you with the details
