post office rates-vs- web rates

Hi everyone, I just found this out when i went to mail out a small package to some one who was looking for something i had to give. So i went on line to see what it would cost me to mail it out. put in small package less then one pound but put in one pound & o ozs put in zip from where it was to mail from and the zip to where it was going to. it came up----- priorty mail 2-days $4.95 or parcel post 5-days-$4.90. so i went ot the post office to mail it off this past saturday, and it only cost me $1.39 to mail it. So i asked the guy why on the web it said $4.95-$4.90 to mail this package, he told me it was going first-class parcel and the web site it is not offered. now i know why some times, when i pay for some postage from things i get, its not the same as what is on the package. Some of you guys might know this but i did not. joe
