Guest JamesDE Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 nice whips!!!!!! question? i am starting into building lowriders, how did you build the working suspension? thank you very much! Brandon None of my suspensions are adjustable. If you are talking about the Buick GN, what I did was take the rear coil springs and drill a hole through the center from top to bottom and was able to put styrene rod through the spring and mount it to the rear axle. The front was more work due to the fact that you need to cut the a-arms off the front and angle them so the front tires are lifted and butterflied if that makes sense. Using the donk kit's suspension, I was able to modify this easy. You never want to just glue the donk suspension to the chassis. In a real lowrider, you will never see the front crossmember hanging down below the chassis, nor will you see the coil springs hanging down for the rear. HTH
Rob Snyder Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Glad to see you've till got the van going. I want to see more of it.

Guest JamesDE Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Those are some sweet builds, James. I'm still workin' on my '71 Old Delta lowrider. Thanks Kevin. I been watching your build. What happened with the paint? I know you stripped it, but have you started to repaint it yet?
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Thanks Kevin. I been watching your build. What happened with the paint? I know you stripped it, but have you started to repaint it yet? I kept getting runs on the lower rocker panels. I have not repainted it yet. I'm out of metallic gold and red metal flake. The only parts I did not have to strip are the engine, chassis, and hood. The paint on the hood is just gorgeous.
