B_rad88 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) hey everyone! after losing a couple of parts, some of my recent projects are now stalled! so i chose work on another kit! its a lindberg toyota! i am building it as a lowrider truck!!! here are some pics of the rims just sitting in place!!!!! i will post more pics later!!!!! let me know what you think!!!! Edited September 30, 2009 by KUZTOMMODELS88
Guest JamesDE Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Looks like its gonna be a fun project. I like the mock up in the last pic. You dont see too many built with the front locked up and the rear dropped down like that. Cant wait to see more progress on this!!
B_rad88 Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 thanks! i thought it would look cool like that! yeah, this is proving to be very tough build! its 4wd with a lift kit on it! trying to modify it to be a lowrider is not easy to do! you can see how it build oob on the box!!!! oh, and i am building it with out instructions! thank you very much, Brandon
B_rad88 Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 as promissed, here is a couple of more pics! if you look closely, i painted the chassis satin black then with the wet paint i threw it into the sand box! i let the paint dry, brushed off the access, and then spray it again with the black! it was to give the frame a protective rust coating! kinda like the rhino bed liner! lol!!! this is all i have done so far! next i have to trim the cab interior down for it to fit better!!!! hope you guys like it!
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) Great start, Brandon! What colour are you gonna do? Edited July 13, 2009 by Mustang3.8
B_rad88 Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) haven't made up my mind yet! i am going yellow with base and then maybe red and orange two-tone stripe designs! and maybe something extra to go on it! and this is FAR from done!!!! i got a long ways to go! like i said, i don't have instructions for it, so i am building it with my knowledge from working at a autoshop! diymirage Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 does it come with pamela anderson ? or am i thinking of the wrong kind of plastic ?
S10XtremeSR Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 great job so far!! I am really liking the nose up ass down approach.
pstreet Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Ah man i havent seen one of these kits on a shelf in quite some time. Nice work, what kind of suspension are you putting on it?
B_rad88 Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 (edited) Ah man i havent seen one of these kits on a shelf in quite some time. Nice work, what kind of suspension are you putting on it? the stock suspension! but i am going to highly modify the suspension so i can drop it!!!! and plus i am going to keep the 4wd! here are some more pics: here is the chassis with the transfer case and the gas tank glued! here is the engine painted glued together and detailed! here is the engine in the chassis for a test fit! thanks for looking!!! Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 does any body have any stripe ideas? How's about the classic "hockey stick" stripe that was found on the Boss 302 Mustang? Or, Rallye stripes?
B_rad88 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 hummmm, ok i will look into those! thanks for the idea!!!
Guest JamesDE Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Have you thought about doin some tribal flame design?? I use gel pens from time to time to do graphic work on some of my builds.
pstreet Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 the stock suspension! but i am going to highly modify the suspension so i can drop it!!!! and plus i am going to keep the 4wd! many years ago there was a 1987-91 4wd Nissan hardbody that use to cruise around here, it was on airbags and body dropped. Awesome engineering. Good luck with your build.
B_rad88 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 those sound really nice JamesDE! i will also look into those too! and thank you pstreet!
B_rad88 Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 (edited) hey fellas, not much done. i glue the engine in place and glue in the exhuast! Edited July 16, 2009 by KUZTOMMODELS88
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 well, ................., the front suspension is a little harder to modify than i was thinking! and i am going to have to cheat on the rear suspension!
diymirage Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 well, ................., the front suspension is a little harder to modify than i was thinking! and i am going to have to cheat on the rear suspension! why not make it a lowrider and jsut slap 13 inch lawnmower wheels on it ? that should drop her right down, no suspension mods needed
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 why not make it a lowrider and jsut slap 13 inch lawnmower wheels on it ? that should drop her right down, no suspension mods needed if i only had my geo metro................ they have 12in stock! lol! and its a little to late for the no suspension mods! i already have altered the frame!
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 (edited) ok, well here is the front suspension (unmodified!) here is the rear suspension (unmodified!) here is the leaf springs glued! here is the rear axle and drive shaft in placelike i said i cheated! i did an over and under! and here is the radiator glued in! and thats all for now! thanks for looking! Edited July 17, 2009 by KUZTOMMODELS88
diymirage Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 nice job on the rear that should lay the body down nicely on the rims you know, you might be able to do the same on the front, kinda like the way they would just flip the front axle upside down on the old fords
B_rad88 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 thank you, and i can't just flip the front one! i have to modify it so it clears the oil pan! i brought everything closer to the frame! and made it tighter! lol!
B_rad88 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 well i have another small update, i cut the front suspension up and trimed it so it sits lower!
