Robert81 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 When did they steal a bullet riddled nova? lol. In the scene that Memphis and Kip get ambushed heading home the night before the big boost. they have to jump fences, and go through garages, to ended up in a late night coffee shop. they hook a Big rig Tow truck to the front of the BMW and pull the front out off, busting the baddes by the cops.

That was a 71 Chevelle, not a Nova.
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 That was a 71 Chevelle, not a Nova. The bad guy's car was actually a Mercedes Benz.
RodneyBad Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) Guess I'll Join in on the Fun. Even tho I believe that the Original Movie was just better With parts of this and a Revell 2dr Jurassic park humvee As far as I can tell from the Movie it was a 2dr with the full Grill guard and Lots of lights. With Help from The Red Ranger the color was a chameleon green to blue/purple? Edited July 30, 2009 by Zukiholic
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Zuk, Duplicolour Mystify makes the colour you are lookin' for your Hummvee. Are you gonna build a snake to put inside it?
The Red Ranger Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 It's amazing how the same truck can look so drastically different.
modeler Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 While the Firebird kicks ass, this is a build for the boost cars, not just cars featured in the movie. Thanks though. not true they used it for the first boost when there getting the porshe
FujimiLover Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I think I might have to step down and let somebody else take Eleanor. I'm still trying to work on my Smart Car drifter and I'm very buisy digitizing family photo's. So, I won't have time for her.
The Red Ranger Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 not true they used it for the first boost when there getting the porshe Point being though is she wasn't on the list of cars to boost. Thats what the build off was started for.
moparmagiclives Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 That was a 71 Chevelle, not a Nova. ....................oooops... when ever i see grey primer i think Nova.

I'm still trying to work on my Smart Car drifter and I'm very buisy digitizing family photo's. So, I won't have time for her. Really sad news, but I completely understand. I picked a fairly simple car to build for this build for that same reason. My drift car is taking some interesting turns, so I'd like a car that wont require really any body mods, and Eleanor would require a lot. You are more than welcome (obviously) to pick perhaps a more straight forward car if time eases up, and the Smart-Drifter goes well. Just let me know bud.

I'll definitely let you know if anything comes up. But does not look like it will any time soon. I haven't even got a kit for my own build off and I'm not sure how that ones going to pan out. Right now, I'm not even confident in the Smart project at the moment. But, we'll see what happens. I'm also very busy at the moment digitizing family photo's and have bin's, upon bin's, upon bin's of photos needed to be done. We'll see what happens with the Smart before I dive into anything else. I might do the purple Diablo some time if/when I get a Diablo kit. That should be pretty much straight forward as long as it's not another complicated Fujimi kit like my KS Diablo was.

I'll have to look for that color. Snake? I'm tired of these MF Snakes on this MF Plane.(never seen the movie) I mean, Ride. Okay, We know the color (more or less) Tan Interior? Guess I'll have to get the Movie (at a deep Discount) and watch that part over and over till I can see something. Edited July 31, 2009 by Zukiholic

RodneyBad Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I started on the Humvee Cut off the bed cover of the Jurassic Park 2dr Humvee and put in a bed and installed a Antenna bracket. Cut down and installed the 4dr Humvee interior since it is more Upscale with Cupholders. Used the H-2 Chrome nurf bars with steps Cut out the grill and installed Mesh screen and put the hooks on the hood and used the 4dr grill guard since I think it matches the one in the movie. Installed A Deep water Air Cleaner Extension and Maybe Exhaust too. I picked up the Duplicolor Mirage Purple/green paint today. Wheels and tires are unknown at this time.

I am hard working on my Skyline for my Drift build, once I get in the final stages with it I will be able to start my Porsche. The Porsche should be simple and sweet.
93Z34 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I'll take Eleanor seeing as if the original builder has backed off. I have tons of detail pics of one of the actual movie cars that was purchased by a local individual that I can use as reference.

I have tons of detail pics of one of the actual movie cars that was purchased by a local individual that I can use as reference. Sweet man! She's yours. There are some definite differences from the Movie car to the show car in your pic. The rims are different, the side scoops are different. So make sure, which I know you would anyway, but make sure you follow the movie car as closely as possible and be ware of imitations.
moparmagiclives Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I watched the movie again this weekend, the only time I seen the 66 cobra, was in the wearhouse in the opening scene. It looked black or dark blue. My question is , should I build as close to that as possible even though "Ashly" was'nt in the movie untill the second boost. Or is there a little creative licence to be taken do to the fact that it was never shown as "Ashly". The only reason I'm asking is that one of the things that made this movie for me was the fact that most of these cars were not just text book stockers, but reflections of the owners ( even though you never realy seen the owners) . I.E. the merc and the hummer and even the 67 shelby, all were good examples of alot of pride put into the daily use of a vehicle. But at the same time there was'nt much to mistake for what model of vehicle they were, just very personalized. What does everyone else think.

Further more, we only saw the Cobra that Kip and his crew boosted, we never saw the Cobra that inevitably made it to the dock, therefore the Cobra would be different. As you said, we never saw Ashley, we just saw the Cobra stolen by Kip that would end up in police impound. So I say get creative with it. If you were the guy who crafted the list, or if you were Memphis, what would you look for in the car, what would make it valuable to you?
