Nick Winter Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) I was wondering if some people would want to join in either of the two I'm thinking of or both, the first would be the 40th annivarsary of the summer of '69 build off Rules 1. has to be a '69 or how a older car would look like in '69 2. Has to be domestic 3. no sub-compact's 4. has to be finished in the dead line dead line december 31st at 12:00am central time because after that it would be the 40th anniversary of the summer of '70 Second build off idea The street truck build off Rules 1. has to be a pickup 2. has to have a factory style bed 3. truck had to been produced after 1960 4. no 4cyl's 5. has to be finished in the dead line dead line november 31st at 12:00am central , so let me know what you guys think. B_rad88 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 hey i can enter both build offs! i have 3 1969 cars(dodge superbee, chevy camaro, ford mustang 428!) and my toyota truck!
Nick Winter Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) Brandon: new or barely started your toyota would just slide by. Ledsled I knew it sounded funny to me thanks for the correction. Added a poll to keep score. Edited July 24, 2009 by Dukefan69'
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hmm. Sounds interesting. I'd love to enter Delta Dawn in the first one, but it's a '71 Olds. Wont qualify. I do have the '69 Nova I got from Torinobradley. As for the truck one, the only one I got is my '84 GMC Dually crewcab. Great idea, 'cuz.
Nick Winter Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 Anytime lil bro. us old geezers cant expect you kids to know everything.........yet Thanks. Hmm. Sounds interesting. Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I may enter this. Sounds like fun. I was thinking of doing the Nova as a car seen on an episode of Disorderly Conduct that went flying off a highway onramp. (PSST, I watch that show so I can drive better then the police.)

I taped that episode, it was turquise with grey primer right.
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I'm not sure. I think it might have been blue with primer. I do know that the underside of the hood was yellow. That reminded me of the Dukes Of Hazzard. "Catch me now, Roscoe"! YEEEHAAWWW!
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 that don't take much where I'm from. I had an 88 GMC (parked in my driveway) get totaled when hit by a cruiser. Cop wasn't even on a call! Back in the day, my uncle got hit in his 86 Stang (while driving in a straight line) by a cruiser from the same town that decided to pull a u-turn into his drivers door (again not on a call, just a random u-turn) Sounds like the police in your town are bad drivers. I got hit by an eighteen wheeler in my '83 Mustang pulling onto the highway. The truck was doin' over 100.

B_rad88 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Brandon: new or barely started your toyota would just slide by. Ledsled I knew it sounded funny to me thanks for the correction. Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) OUCHYour lucky to still be here Poor mustang. Actually, the only damage he did was a broken taillight, and he knocked the bumper loose. Oh, Nick I can't see the poll, either. Edited July 24, 2009 by Mustang3.8
Abell82 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Technically cars come out several months inadvance, of the actual year, so a 1970 could be purchased and driven in 1969.

Corvette.Jeff Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I have a 69' shelby gt500 that i just got done painting, would that qualify?
Nick Winter Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 I have a 69' shelby gt500 that i just got done painting, would that qualify? As long as it has minimal work. these may be better as community build projects instead of "build off's" the other thing is why no imports, sub-compacts or 4 cylinders? and for your summer of '70 idea what's with the trucks after 1960? shouldn't it be trucks 1970 or older? Dave Ok I'll change them to community builds Dave. Because it really dosen't go with the way we picture the 70's and late 60's. You have that mixed up Dave it's a street truck community build.
ewaskew Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 You can put me down for a 69 Chevelle build Earl Miller
