935k3 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 A few I am working on. The Alfa is Duplicolor DSC351 Flash Red, the Porsche 936 is Krylon White and the Bentley is Duplicolor FM 195 Dark Jade.
chris coller Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Very cool Dale! I can't wait to see the Bentley finished. Would love to do the Alfa Romeo myself. Just like the scheme on that car.
RodneyBad Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I love the Alfa. I can see the Alfa as a street Racer. The others, I don't know much about. but I'm sure they'll look great too.
The Red Ranger Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I just bought a Fujimi Nismo Skyline and it's curbside, and the Italeri Porsche I picked up is also curbside, am I correct in assuming that most foreign models are curbsiders?

Yes, if there is no mention of or picture of one in the description there isn't usually one. Tamiya always says detailed engine in the description on box top if there is one.
Nick F40 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Some of them still look the same as when I last saw them.......ehhh, I'm one to talk! Love that 936, you NEVER see those.
diymirage Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 wow memories galore that alfa is just the bomb i remember one of my very first jobs was at a alfa romeo tuner...just kinda cleaning shop at first and doing grunt work i saw i dont know how many absolutly gorgeous and just insanly tuned alfas one of my most favorite was a bright yellow GTA that had a ton of custom body parts on it we took just about every panel of and had it replicated in fiber glass (per customers request) then we slapped in a V6 it had the alfa romeo scuderia bodykit on it which i personally rivetted to the body, just like the origenal cars had when the owner came to pick up the car he was estatic this thing was a beast the only thing that could put a damper on the whole car was its weight when we build it we didnt know the class the owner intended to run in once we figured out what class it was we realised that with all the custom fiberglass panels the car weighed in at almost 300 pounds below minumum

There is a Brumos Museum here where I live and I get the luxury to see all the historic Porsche race cars and I can actually look inside them and get right up to them... Our AC company does the AC maintanance there and it is a Private museum..They also have a race shop and sometimes dyno the cars or tune them.. Very loud LOL Lucky me Edited August 25, 2009 by ProStr33t

Nick, let's see starting with the Bentley the chassis was cleaned up and painted and the gloss black areas(allot people miss that) of the body were masked and airbrushed. The Alfa was polished, the chassis was cleaned up(allot of work)and primed and the roll cage was primed and painted black(prep for Alclad). The 936 was primed and painted. Now what was it you got done lately. And then yesterday I heard a crunch under my chair which turned out to be the front splitter/base plate for the Bentley. It was in about 5 pieces that were carefully glued together and was reworked and is back in primer. And I worked on these two Two I am working on. Now get to work and finish that Audi.
