dencon Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I built this one as a quick slammer. I do not like the chassis in these kits, but they were what they were. They work good for a model like this. Had to modify the chassis a little to get the stance I wanted. I was going for the outward look. This model started out as an old MPC Cannonball Run model I built about 18 years ago as a DW Gatoraid car. I wanted to save my new Model King Lagunas for more detailed projects. I striped it and went over the body. I filled in the door seams and nose seam. 86ed the overdone kit front bumper and made my own out of Evergreen strips. The decals came from the model King Laguna. I used PPG Automotive "Ford Poppy Red" base and cleard with PPG Global Automotive Urethane Clear. All shot with a gun. I had fun with this model. Matt
my name is nobody Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 it really looks great. That red is a real eye popper. nice model!
voljeepx Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Great job! A.J. was awesome and you did his car justice!
Slim Louis Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 That turned out real nice, big AJ fan and love this car. You overcame all the kit short comings quite well! Great build!
dencon Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Thanks guys. I had alot of fun with this model. It really was not hard to make this kit look just a little bit better. The color in the pics does not look right. It is a little more orange, but I am sure you guys know what Ford Poppy Red looks like. Matt
