travis321 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 hi well the 57 chevy was shut down cause my silver paint is starting to wrinkel up when left out to long and i had to leave it open when doing the details and it screwed up so i thought i would start this ( not like this is any better you will see in the picture) it's a 2004 pontiac gto by amt got it in a four pack at wal*mart here when they sold plastic model kits i started it a year ago but then put it away cause i liked the older cars better but thought i would try something new for a change i screwed up BAD!!!!! I MEAN BAD!!!!!!!!!! on the paint job i primerd, wetsanded and all that and i was painting the door handels and my hand sliped it got on the door so this never happend to me before so i painted over top of it and it starts to wrinkel up so i primer it and it made it worse so i sanded from 8 pm till 9 a hour of sanding and now it;s ready for a shot of new primer and paint and clear coat all because i wanted to do a good job on this project and not leave a littel silver mark that was barely notcibal on the door haha already had my bad paint days heres some pictures i finaly got the camara to work the motor will be repainted haha thats when i was sort of crapy at painting i still am but not as bad after it's sanded Tomorrow supost to be nice out so will try and get it painted and take pics comments are aloud bad, good, tips, tricks anything thanks for looking travis l
travis321 Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 well i primmed it and stuff and got the paint perfect i mean it was the same as before but a bee was on my arm and i could feel it starting to sting and i dropped the paint can with the car on it and ran to the house to put that bee sting stuff and not only when i dropped the paint can with the gto did it ruin my new paint job it got on the side walk leading into our house so till now i was cleaning it up and sanding it again and im gonna get some i mean i need some castrol superclean and redo this whole thing usaly i would just give up and put it away but this one is differnt i gusse travis l
randx0 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 well just hang in there perserverence is important and it looks like it was turning out very nice . and definitely get the purple stuff so you don't have to sand so much especially when the paint is so fresh.keep up the good work.
B_rad88 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 i just got 3 of those for $5 each, and i was happy i got them, until i opened one up! then i was very dissapointed! i might build one, maybe! if its a last resort! lol! hope you can fix yours! if you can't, i would part with one of mine!
