Guest Mustang3.8 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hey, y'all. I figured since I'll be doin' the '68 Bullitt Mustang for DukeFan69's Summer of '69 build, I thought I'd build the Charger as well. I'll be using Revell's Special Edition Charger. I've painted the car in Testor's Gloss black, and Krylon Fusion flat black texture for the viynal roof. It will have a 440. I will be using rims from a '69 Dart. I will be putting alot of effort into this build as I'm dedicating it to my good friend DukeFan69. Here's a pic of the 1:1 movie car.
Car Crazy 81 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Kevin- Great start so far on your project im working on the "Bullitt" car as well. Instead of using the kits body i would go with a body shell from a Revell 69 Charger because it has the molded-in vinyl top. As for the paint goes Valspar has a great gloss black paint which you can find at Lowe's and for the vinyl top use Rust-Oleum "Textured" Black which has a great texture especially for a vinyl top. Note if youre using a 69 body fill the side marker lights and use the 68 rear facia & bumpers. I hope to see some pics of youre build.
Nick Winter Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hey if you want I can add this car to the list of the 40th aniversary of the summer of '69 build if you want and we can either link this in or drop a link here leading it to the build. Don't deticate it to me buddy, what are good firends for and what did i do to help.
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Thanks, guys. LSU fan, I've already painted the '68 body, plus the only '69 body I have has had a part of the viynal roof sanded off. (failed General Lee project. Anybody need a spare '69 Charger body ?) Nick, yeah a link to the Summer of '69 build would be great. I'll try and get some pics up tonight.
