Terror Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 If you like trimming flash this is the kit for you. This will be a kit build with plug wire and thats it.All the chrome is stripped cause thats not very good either. If ya can't tell the paint theme will be orange and white, all cheap walmart paint, even the clear.I've seen this kit many times through-out my life and every time its been open and the back tires are missing.I got this and another sealed 57 vette for about $8 sent to the door. Thanks for stoppin in.
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Ya know I've had one of those for a lot of yrs and it had all the parts and I don't remember having to clean much flash at all. But then when I bought mine it was an MPC kit and the molds were prob new. It's still a great kit though. Strangely enough I don't think I ever finished it.
RodneyBad Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Nice ole Classic build. 2 for 8, can't beat that. Looking good tho Be watching..
Terror Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Made a ridge on the hood.I don't like straight cuts so I used headphone wire to bring it up.Thanks.....
old-hermit Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Nice detail on the chassis and engine. Wally World paint ain't bad for $1.00 a can. heh heh heh.
samm1970 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Looking good so far.I bought several of these kits when Hobby Lobby dumped all their AMT kits, I held out and got them for around $4 each. All the flash and poor fitment of parts really turned me against building them. The one bright spot were the wheels. They were spot on for some of the Billet Specialties wheels that are on a lot of the the ORSCA and NMCA drag cars.I have one still sealed that I may at some point build.Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing yours completed. Sam
Terror Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 First off thanks for all the comments that means alot. Here is a little progress mock up.The engine is done and glued in.The rest is just setting there.Everything seams to fit well after clean up.
Terror Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Small update, but still at it.All body parts are primed.Rims striped and painted.Hood is coming along also.
RodneyBad Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Good Idea on the hood. Just the touch it needed.. A little Black wash in the grill will be a nice touch. Looking good so far.. Model on..
my name is nobody Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Wow....talk about polishing a turd! You have done a terrific job on this 'vette. I have a few of these, and have only built one. the flash on my kit was unbelievable. The lift on the hood really makes a difference. should be a great one when completed.
