jhwelch5 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 need to know of any ways to seperate resin parts after being glued with superglue.
Jairus Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hmmmmm, make a wish and pull? Depends how much glue was used. Superglue applies a bond as opposed to plastic glue, which softens the plastic for “weld like†strength. The reason superglue holds resin so well is because it is more porous for a better hold and more brittle than plastic and cannot be pried apart as easily.
gowjobs Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Will ZAP de-bonder react adversely with the resin? I would guess that it'd be your best bet. Cyanoacrylates don't seem to like freezing either... you might try putting the parts in a bag with a splash of water and freezing them overnight... if any of the water can get between the parts, it should expand as it freezes, hopefully popping the bond loose, or at least causing fractures in the glue.
Ariel Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 PUT IT IN THE FREEZER . IF YOU DON'T HAVE ALOT OF GLUE ON IT IT SHOULD COME APART. ALSO TRY WETING IT BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN. ARIEL
