Dingo Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 The reason this is a rally car with a difference is because not many of these heavy Mitsubishi vehicles where used in Australian rallying maybe overseas they where but not here. This one is part of a package of 5 I got in August and have now started to put together one by one. THe VR4 rally car is based on the 4 wheel drive 4 wheel steer version of the road car but instead of having the rear wheels steer like the road car they where fixed in position to give the rally version a better drive and cornering ability at speed no other reason but that. I hope U all enjoy my version and attempt to replicate this sporting version of a once great rally car in a curbside model. Dingo
Nick F40 Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Nice! Definetly a tarmac rally version though
Dingo Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 Sorry Nick but it is being built as a dirt rally car not tarmac, I'm not a tarmac guy and it don't turn me on. Dingo
RodneyBad Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 It is looking good. Very sporty lookin one too. Wouldn't it need to sit a bit taller? I tried finding a stock one and ended up with a Rally one to turn into stock. and your turning a stock one into a Rally car
Dingo Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 The build slowly continues with the Galant, I have spent some time working on the roll cage and this is only a practise one the model one will be made of styrene, the solder is just too hard to get straight and hold in shape when working with other pieces of the cage. Dingo Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) Not the same VR4 as above but another that was sent to me by a good friend of mine in England. This one arrived as a blank canvas so I just decaled it with a few decals to make a club car. The red dot on the front fender is a "Sporting Car Club of America" minature decal I got from somewhere, sorry can't remember. Dingo Edited September 19, 2009 by Dingo
