shlajh02 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 No prize just to see who gets this first. Quote
Eshaver Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Look , it's a bad shot but my guess is that's a 1928 Oakland sedan . Ed Shaver Quote
george 53 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 WoW! what a pretty car! I REALLY like the paint job.It really flows with the lines of the car so well!! Was Ed right? Quote
shlajh02 Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 no ed didnt get it right! it a very unrecognizable car but to some a very recolonized brand. Quote
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 From the size of the ppl in relation to the size of the car I'd say maybe a Batom. Quote
62rebel Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 did you mean Bantam? too big to be a Bantam. no 4 door Bantams IIRC. very interesting headlights... late '20's but not newr than '33 or '34 if American made. Quote
Jon Cole Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Well I know next to squat about late twenties- early thirtees cars, but I would guess it is part of the "Ford" family, so I'm thinking maybe a Mercury, or a Lincoln? Quote
Modelmartin Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Late 20s -early 30s Willys? The radiator shell and hood look like it. The headlights don't match the car. They look like teens or early 20s. Quote
Modlbldr Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Those are interesting headlights and I would say yes, a Jaguar. Later- Quote
Harry P. Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I don't know what it is, but I'd be willing to bet that the paint job is not original. I don't think they even had invented that shade of purple back then! Quote
CFnutcase Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I am thinking it is a 31 mopar, thinking Dodge.....Jim Quote
Modelmartin Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I have no idea if my guess is right but some of you guys are way off!!! Jaguar didn't exist back then. Well they did but they were called Swallow and just made motorcycle sidecars. Ford or Lincoln -NO! Dodge- No! Nash - not! Fiat -hardly. Aaron?...........Aaron? Quote
shlajh02 Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 sorry guys I had class today , but andy has it almost right so far: Late 20s -early 30s Willys? The radiator shell and hood look like it. The headlights don't match the car. They look like teens or early 20s. Quote
Nick Winter Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 sorry guys I had class today , but andy has it almost right so far: it's a Model, just look at the folks in the car. BTW I have no idea what kinda car it is other than it's american made from 1918- 1939, I Like the color and look . Quote
Nick Winter Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 its not a model o0h the angle of the first picture makes the people look fake, but now that i looked at the second pic they look more like people Quote
Modelmartin Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Wanna bet smart guy????????? Guess again....................... I forget the exact year but it is a mid-late 20's FIAT taken at the Cirellis Open House Car Show this past June 7. Besides I said "it looks a lot like" and "I'll GUESS" So your know-it-all statement and attitude may not be as well deserved as you seem to think. Touchy are we? The car Aaron posted is not a FIAT. I stated that and I was right so I guess I know something, dude! In fact I do know a lot. Certainly not everything, but I do have a broad range of knowledge of automotive history. FIATs have been around forever and were not always a small car. They built some awesome LSR cars back around 1910 give or take a few years. It doesn't surprise me that some have been street-rodded. Aaron says I have it almost right. Is it a Willys-Knight? It also resembles some late 20s Hudson-Essex cars but the moldings around the windows are different. Quote
shlajh02 Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 well ive gota leave for the day ill be on at 3:30ish the car is: 29 Willys-Knight 4dr Sedan Quote
